In our Corning, New York tradition of Steuben Glass Works, designer Frederick Carder and glass cutter Thomas Hawkes－we use a 17th Century European copper-wheel engraving technique to create SOUL®, a piece which we first marketed at the Corning Museum of Glass.

The circle shape and light event caused by the engraving has been a symbol for soul, life or eternity for cultures dating back more than 3800 years when craftspeople carved dents in glass to please the Pharaohs.
